Resigning from any job is difficult. Resigning mid contract from a teaching position is very complicated. When a teaching contract is signed, both parties intend for the contract to be continued for an entire academic year. Schools hate to lose teachers mid-year because it disrupts the students’ educational experience and decreases their yearly academic progress. Although this is something that schools do not like, it does happen.
It is also advisable that, a worker, intending to quit his job must follow proper resignation channel. Many companies have, their own job termination clauses, which are agreed by the employee, at the time of hiring. These terms and conditions may include, serving advance job quitting information, confidentiality provision, pre quit notice and resignation letter.
The reason for resignation should be given in clearly, this need not to include the names of the future job prospects in full just a brief idea that this was a good enough reason for you to leave. Not always but there are some situations where you might have to leave the job in some unpleasant circumstances, this however does not means that you should part in bad terms also. What ever the reason might be the formal courtesy should be maintained, this is not only for the sake of some previous pleasant experience but also a good practice that will help you in obtaining a good reference and work experience letter too.
When composing a resignation letter, be short and to the point. Writing a resignation letter is no time to be verbose and ramble on. Make sure you state your name and contact information, the fact that you are resigning, and the date of your resignation. No other information is necessary in this type of letter. Resist the urge to include extraneous information regarding your time at the school district or your future career plans.
Other people’s names. The resignation letter must have peaceful content on it. Even if a person is responsible for such decision on your end, it would be better not to indicate names there. It would already be a hassle on the part of the school if you are citing an individual or two who caused you to leave, and that would only bring harm to them. Though the school needs to know your reason, better do it in a subtle and decent way.
